Typography, the art and technique of arranging type, has a history as long as writing itself. As graphic designer Ben Barrett-Forrest states in his paper-letter animation called The History of Typography, “It’s timeless, but always changing”. He used 291 paper letters and 2,454 photos (!) to create this fun and informative animation that explains it all in just over 5 minutes and traces typography’s history from the beginning when all lettering had to be hand-scribed right up to the modern day. The video has soon become a massive hit on the internet and has now been viewed more than 400,000 times. Check it out!
