Budapest based illustrator, graphic designer, and visual artist Fanny Papay creates work with a fresh touch, experimenting with different visual styles while discovering new conceptual solutions to create something unique. Inspired by surrealism, 80’s, 90’s and futurism crossing with current trends, Papay’s work is both fun and ambitious. 
Colors, gradients, and complex patterns
On a first glance, the colors, shapes, and patterns of Papay’s work jump of the screen or paper, depending on what is in front of you, as the one common thread throughout her work is the use of vivid colors, gradients, and complex patterns.
Primary colors with a contemporary twist
In her concept for the visual identity of the Hungarian Muus Festival, she combines her interest towards surrealism with cartoon-like graphics. Utilizing the classic combination of the three primary colors of red, yellow and blue, Papay creates a unique, contemporary color scheme of coral red (Pantone color of the year), mustard yellow, and baby blue, together with dusty pink and black. The colors, with a bold sans serif font and surreal graphic illustrations, reminiscent of the 90’s computer games – creates a strong, recognizable identity full of character.
