The Room Magazine Visual Identity By Alina Rybacka

Multi-talented designer Alina Rybacka created a new visual identity for the Polish lifestyle magazine the ROOM. The black&white entirety consists of everything a full stationery set includes, which perfectly outlines the stylishly sleek and romantic style the ROOM represents. In the design, typography is given the main stage while large lyrical photographs beautifully contrast the otherwise monochromatic appearance.

The ROOM is a modern-day online lifestyle magazine that consists of everything from trends, art, travel, beauty, fashion, and food, in the form of daily articles and essays written by leading figures in respective industries. The Polish magazine has built an impressive fan base with quality content and beautiful visuals, but even though it’s the content and people who make the magazine what it is, branding is also an imperative part of it. It’s the first thing that people see, it communicates to the reader who they are, what they represent and the quality of work expected from them. And with this, the ROOM is spot on!

Warsaw-based designer Alina Rybacka has a growing resume and a wide set of skills. Having worked in architecture, interior, graphic, and furniture design, in which all she keeps a strictly minimal, contemporarily cohesive style, she was the perfect choice for the job. Always working at a very high level of quality, clean and fresh seems to be the two attributes that she always incorporates in her designs.

Keeping with the trend of the time, the visual identity of the ROOM is filled with quotes, slogans, and phrases, printed in hand-written style. This combined with clean layouts, natural materials and sparsely used text create a cohesive, modern and approachable visual identity that makes you want to save each piece of paper you get your hands on. She designed the paper goods in great cohesion with the existing online presence that was created by Jolanta Aerts back when the magazine was still called RO Style&Life along with the original logo that The Room logo is now based on.
