From magical castles to detailed Mercedes-Benz cars, whatever Pratic creates, it comes with a true passion for paper and intense attention to detail. This craftsmanship and intend can be seen in their more personal work, like the Violin City paper sculpture, created as part of the Paper Artist Collective project Paper Passion, sponsored by Arctic Paper.
The aim of the project was to express Pratìc’s passion for paper in an artwork, by reflecting on their own personal paper journey. “The concept of creating something that brings harmony, joy, and presence to a state of being was overwhelming and exciting at the same time. So, music came to mind and, in particular, the sound of the violin played with passion and powerful emotions – elation or desperation”, Pratìc writes of the concept of the paper sculpture.

“Shortly after the violin made it to the sketchbook, another topic started worming its way into thoughts and then into the sketchbook. Immigration! A generic topic, yet extremely personal. Contrary to popular opinion it’s not a current topic at all. It is as old as the existence of mankind and many other species – the instinct to survive and the need to search for a better destination”, Pratìc explains further.
The Violin City paper sculpture is not a direct attempt to talk about immigration, as we all know it, but rather a curious search for sound. Crafted with the hope of telling the story of a city in search of its melody and harmony, not necessarily by moving into a new space, but rather by looking for its unique beautiful sound from within.
