Hungarian creative Robert Farkas is a man of many talents, gradually transferring from the professional design world to the life of a freelance artist, the Budapest native has dipped his hand in every creative pool that’s out there. Before working as a web designer, then an art director, and lastly as an animator, he now creates one of a kind digital illustrations under the name Astronaut.
Farkas has mastered every technique he’s put his mind to. Becoming a successful art director at a very young age, then moving onto the world of digital animation, finally finding his artistic happiness in digital art, which he showcases on everything from t-shirts and leggings to canvases and wall stickers.
By combining the techniques of water coloring, collage and computer arts, Farkas’s work has a distinctive and recognizable style. As boldly as he fuses techniques, he mixes colors and textures, creating beautiful and intriguing pieces of work. But it’s not only the technique that impresses, it’s the smart, often minimal layout of his works. Drawing much inspiration from the beauty of wild animals, many of Farkas’s works portray animals such as lions, tigers, foxes, and wolves (“wolf” being Hungarian for “farkas”!).
