Polish-born artist and designer Marcin Glod lives and works in Vienna, where he runs his own creative agency, winning over clients like Red Bull, Uber, Raiffeisen, and many more. The creative who goes by the same Glod has also founded his own fashion label, while also designing for other brands. Since 2019 he has been focusing exclusively on his career as an artist and has exhibited his work in Vienna, Hamburg, Amsterdam, Basel, and Dubai. Having initially pursued a successful career as a graphic designer and creative director, Glod’s works are located at the intersection of street art, graffiti, and painting. This field of tension is his source of inspiration and enables him to create a very broad spectrum of work.
I try to combine many eras and reflect them in a new body of work. I work with very strong and lively colors and try to create something new and awaken emotions through simple and awaken emotions.
With his work, Glod tries to reflect various art directions in a new complete work. He focuses on sustainability and the reuse of vintage elements. The pop cultural references are an important tool for him to deal with social developments, current events, and also historical parallels and to question them. “I try to combine many eras and reflect them in a new body of work. I work with very strong and lively colors and try to create something new and awaken emotions through simple and awaken emotions.” – Marcin Glod in an Interview with Les Nouveaux Riches, 2019.
The first art book of the artist, Glod – Beginnings tells the backstory of Marcin Glod through an exclusive interview, an archive of artworks, exhibitions, and collaborations, and intriguing behind-the-scenes material

The book offers glimpses into his early work and sources of inspiration, the creative’s extensive travels as well as his first major design gigs – following his rise in the competitive creative industry. Glod’s artistic breakthrough is highlighted in the book, as for the first time his work was publicly exhibited at the contemporary Ho Gallery in Vienna in 2019, followed by a presentation at Parallel Vienna, and solo exhibitions in Munich, Basel, and Hamburg in 2020. “With his instantly readable visual language, which is immediately accessible to the viewer with comprehensive analogies to contemporary culture, Glod’s art is current and comprehensible everywhere.” – Anne-Marie Avramut.
The art book is covered by multiple design elements: spray, paper, sketches, and graffiti, all in the signature style of the artist while utilizing three different premium design papers
Three different versions of the art book were published, including a signed limited edition (500 books, numbered on the first page), and a signed art box edition (100 books) that comes in a unique wooden box that includes handmade silk print artwork, a Glod pencil and brush, and three postcards. I like these colours. Pink especially, I want to radiate something positive with my art, bring spaces to life. I want to give people a good feeling and good vibes. It’s about a happy, fun life, there’s enough heaviness, my art is to communicate lightness…
“I like these colours. Pink especially, I want to radiate something positive with my art, bring spaces to life. I want to give people a good feeling and good vibes. It’s about a happy, fun life, there’s enough heaviness, my art is to communicate lightness. I’m a very positive person and I want to convey some of that joie de vivre, of course, my colors are a part of that.” – Marcin Glod. The golden cover of the artbook is silk-screen printed, and it beautifully matches the bookmark realized on Glam Gold, which, on one side reads “IT’S ALL ABOUT THE DETAILS” and acts as a ruler, and on the other side gives the reader the chance to make some notes.
