Inspiration + Paper = Spring Bloom

As the grip of winter has finally loosened its hold and nature has awakened to its full potential, there’s an undeniable sense of renewal and possibility in the air. When spring arrives with its gentle warmth and vibrant colors, new life and fresh beginnings surround us. It’s the overwhelming feeling of opportunity and potential that we affiliate with spring and early summer. And that’s also why it often acts as a source of inspiration or alternatively, the end goal in designers’ work when it comes to creating desirable products, experiences, or services. 

The beauty and vitality of spring blooms can serve as a muse for designers, igniting their creativity and infusing their creations with a sense of vitality, joy, and excitement – all emotions that often drive consumers or customers in their purchasing behavior. From the delicate petals of cherry blossoms to the lush foliage of tulips, botanical bounty provides endless avenues for exploration and expression.

In our longest-running article series: Inspiration + Paper, we search for themes and topics that can act as a source of inspiration when working with design papers. With such a simple yet versatile medium as paper, it can be easily forgotten how much power paper can behold. A single paper, or a collection, can imitate an emotion or ignite a memory, it can signal values and thoughts – and it can have a direct impact on its viewer or holder, both consciously and subconsciously – making it an incredibly powerful and important tool for any designer to consider.

The five so-called mini collections are all inspired by various scenes showcasing signs of spring in nature as well as some of our current favorites from the wide and varied Design Papers Collection. We focused more on the mood and feel of the scenery than the actual color scheme, to demonstrate how paper can capture an atmosphere with its unique properties.
