As a branding fanatic my eye naturally gravitates towards new, interesting designs, anything uncommon or rare, something that differs from the rest. And while the current trends in packaging demand light color schemes, minimalism, typography and extravagant materials, it’s often the opposite thats steals the spotlight. Mike, a graphic designer from Prague creates stunningly detailed, colorful and mind bogglingly imaginative visuals for a wide range of clients and projects, but when it comes to hand drawn illustrations his skills are unparalleled.
With 12 years of experience and an incredible port folio, Mike runs his own design agency Creative Mints. Mainly working online, creating icons and illustrations, design websites, applications, games and user interfaces, it was his work with hand drawn packaging and branding illustrations that peeked my interest. Working with luxurious and high end brand concepts, Royal Crown – Premium Red Caviar, Nithsdale Distillery and Victoire Sories florist, Mike created elegant branding and packaging designs with an aristocratic feel. Part of the appeal is the beatifully photographed products, signalling he known how how it’s all about the whole package, the finishing details.
