Nika Levitskaya, the other half of a Moscow based creative studio Made and an art director extraordinaire specializes in identity and brand development. Her latest project for a mobile printing app Mimigram, on which users can turn their best moments into awesome photo products and receive them in a stylish package, is a great example of the designers’ style. Inspired by the renown Memphis movements of the 1980’s, the packaging is full of loud colors and zany patterns – with a contemporary edge featuring pastels and rounded typography.
The main goal was to make useful, stylish, desirable packaging design while keeping production costs low. To achieve that Levitskaya applied the designed theme to generic mailing boxes and envelopes. The main version of the logo contains typography within a frame of which one of the corners is removed, and the triangle motif evokes associations with photo albums corners that are used to hold photographs. To communicate the lighthearted and happy side of Mimigram, a smiley face was created that adds humour to the design.
