We at Design & Paper just love to look for hot new print and paper designs online on behance, Pinterest and many other platforms. Our latest discovery is Print Control, an ever-growing platform for listing and promoting the best printed matter from Poland. Each year the platform publishes a book showcasing the current view on Polish print design. The second edition, Print Control N°2, will be presented to tomorrow at Print Control Week.
printcontrol.pl is a very popular bilingual (Polish and English) online platform showcasing the best designs printed in Poland. It is a great place to share and promote good design, outstanding graphics as well as interesting typographical and technical solutions appearing in print publications. Each post is devoted to a specific publication, showing all its facets as well as linking it to the design studio standing behind the project. Moreover, readers can find events related to graphic design and places where you can buy remarkable books, catalogs and more.
As a result of running the online platform, Print Control decided to launch an eponymous annual book publication. This year marks the second edition of Print Control (N°2), published in cooperation with txt publishing and the Adam Mickiewicz Institute. The book features over 100 leading examples of Polish graphic design, selected by curator Magdalena Heliasz – each accompanied by technical specifications. The second part of the book is devoted to interviews with Polish designers and publishers such as Edgar Bąk, Ryszard Bienert, Jakub Jezierski, Jakub Banasiak and others.
The book will be released tomorrow, 4th of October 6 p.m., at the opening of Print Control Week, a festival celebrating the latest phenomena in Polish art publishing taking place from October 4-12 at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw. The event also marks the opening of two exhibitions – Photographic Publications of the Year 2013 and The Most Interesting Polish Publication, where you can see selected projects from the book.
From tomorrow onwards, Print Control N°2 will be available in bookstores and art galleries in Poland and selected European countries (price 49 Polish Zloty, about 12 Euro).
