At Design & Paper, we have always been passionate about the timeless appeal of print and paper. That’s why we are thrilled to join in celebrating Love Paper Week, a brand-new initiative by Two Sides that shines a spotlight on the attractiveness, versatility, and sustainability of print, paper, and paper packaging.
Organized by Two Sides, a global not-for-profit organization dedicated to dispelling myths and promoting the responsible use of print and paper, Love Paper Week takes place from 3rd to 7th February and aims to raise awareness of paper’s environmental credentials and its irreplaceable role in our daily lives. With a focus on paper’s recyclability, renewability, and tangible beauty, this campaign encourages both businesses and individuals to appreciate and embrace this sustainable material. You can learn more about the campaign here, and about Two Sides and their members here.
For me, paper is the truffle among communication media. – Sandra.
In the digital age, paper retains a special charm, a sense of authenticity and tangibility, giving me a place where I can slow down time and find myself. – Andra.
Paper is the perfect medium for self-expression. Such a simple medium can be turned into a vessel for conveying emotions and stories, while offering a piece of tactile experiences we so lack in these digital times. – Sini.
Paper is more than just a medium — it’s a source of creativity, expression, and connection.
For us at Design & Paper, Love Paper Week is the perfect opportunity to reflect on why we are so deeply inspired by paper. So deeply that we’ve chosen to make a career out of it, and we’ve been writing about it, sharing our passion for it with you all for over thirteen years now here on Design & Paper.
Sandra, who works as the Head of Design Papers at Europapier, captures it perfectly: “For me, paper is the truffle among communication media.“ Which is so well said. Paper is a true luxury, offering depth and richness that digital platforms simply can’t replicate. Andra, a Product Manager Design Papers at Europapier, adds her perspective: “In the digital age, paper retains a special charm, a sense of authenticity and tangibility, giving me a place where I can slow down time and find myself.” Underlining, how there’s something undeniably grounding about holding a beautifully crafted piece of paper in your hands. Lastly, Sini, our senior editor and graphic designer, highlights paper’s expressive potential “Paper is the perfect medium for self-expression. Such a simple medium can be turned into a vessel for conveying emotions and stories while offering a piece of tactile experiences we so lack in these digital times.” Indeed, paper invites us to engage, to create, and to feel in ways that digital screens never could.
Love Paper Week is a call to celebrate everything that makes paper special — from its creative potential to its environmental benefits. So, let’s take this time to appreciate the beauty of paper and support its sustainable future. After all, there’s nothing quite like the feel of paper in our hands, the scent of fresh print, and the joy of turning a page! Join us on our social media channels to celebrate Love Paper Week by sharing your own thoughts and feeling for this precious medium!
