The Figula Family Winery is located in the Balaton-region of Hungary also known as the gem of the Pannon area, more precisely in Balatonszőlős – Sóskút. This particular region being rich in unique natural resources, winemaking is a honorable task yet a serious responsibility. It was the beautiful location that inspired two students of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in Budapest – Kata Moravszki and Lakosi Richárd to create a stylishly graphic packaging concept which is build around a custom made coat of arms, and a modern custom font, reflecting the traditional heraldic shapes.
Using the two geographic areas and their history as inspiration, the idea to combine their coat of arms to form a new, unique design was born. In compliance with the rules of heraldic coat of arms the combination of the two places was done with a contemporary line-drawing style. In the final design, the great shield from the coat of arms of Balatonfüred embraces the coat of arms of Balatonszőlős in a shape of a heart. This is the Fess Point, the most important element of the coat of arms. Thus this sign embodies in a authentic manor the relationship between wine, winery and Sóskút-vineyard. The custom font follows the heraldic shape, creating a nice rounded font, giving a cohesive feel to the overall design. Honoring the 2000 year-old traditions of wine making of the region with the historic references of the Hungarian heraldry, the modern Figula Wines coat of arms is as regal as it is an eye-catcher!
