As you all know we at Design&Paper are huge DIY enthusiasts. And every year we are eager to see which DIY trends are presented at Creativeworld in Frankfurt. 2015 will be ARTISTIC, ROMANTIC and OPTIMISTIC – doesn’t sound too bad!
The designers of the bora.herke.palmisano trend bureau presented three distinctive styles at the 2015 Creativeworld.
ARTISTIC is wild, uncomplicated and expressive. Everything revolves around strong, pure colors such as indigo blue, red and yellow. These colors are sprayed, stamped or painted on different materials in a less than perfect way. It’s about trying out and seeing what comes of it!
ROMANTIC is transparent, delicate and poetical. White and silver are combined with light, delicate materials such as fine paper and glass. Feathers, paper flowers, ribbons, sprayed silver and lace stamps are just some of the decorative elements involved. This style is dreamy yet exclusive at the same time.
OPTIMISTIC is artistic, flamboyant and modern. Bright colors such as orange, blue, violet and also black are combined with a variety of techniques such as marbling or dip dying. Washi tapes and paper cutting make a big appearance on notebooks, greeting cards and other decorative items.
We cannot wait to try out some of the techniques and materials presented. Which is your favorite trend?
