The Don Nadie studio was founded in 2017 in Buenos Aires as an initiative by Lisandro Carrasco and Mono Alvarado, two designers passionate about the use of paper as a resource for conceptualizing and realizing creative ideas – as opposed to the excessive use of the computer. The studio, whose main paper crafter and project manager Carrasco works as, is known for its capability to create inspiring and high-quality paper designs by truly understanding and investigating the characteristics of the material, as well as the needs and wants of the client in question. Don Nadie’s design projects range from editorial paper illustrations to edgy paper fashion and stage and window installations of various scales.

Don Nadie’s passion and love for paper translates into visually unique, precisely manufactured paper works, which often masterfully combine various paper crafting techniques
In contrast to many paper creatives, Don Nadie has managed to master numerous paper crafting techniques, allowing the studio to build works that combine different skills and know-how such as origami, folded paper, paper cutting, and more. Opposed to focusing on one style or technique, the studio’s approach to creating is interdisciplinary, bridging numerous mediums as well as creatives. Aiming to build a community among paper enthusiasts, the studio collaborates with a diverse team of creatives that include other paper artists, art directors, photographers, and artisans.

Believing that paper offers the means to create an infinite number of styles and textures, which can be applied to a number of design applications and projects, Don Nadie effortlessly glides from paper fashion projects to stage installations and even product design. Through imaginative techniques, such as pleating, cutting, and poking, the designers create inspiring spaces and elements that serve as an uplighting setting for brands, products, viewers or visitors. There seem to be no limits to Don Nadie’s ability or ingenuity to create inspiring paper works that capture the viewer’s imagination, and we can nothing but admire their capability to create fascinating work.
