Honoring the tradition of the art of natural winemaking, hand-painted patterns create a uniquely contemporary design
Milán Juhász is an independent natural winemaker located in the south of Hungary who approached Classmate Studio to create a visual identity, including a series of wine bottle labels for his newly founded winery. Juhász’s natural wines are handcrafted by traditional and organic techniques, honoring age-old traditions of the art of winemaking. The visual identity created aims to reflect this heritage with a hint of contemporary touch.

For Milán, winemaking is an art form, where technique and instinct pay equal importance. This ideology inspired Classmate Studio to use hand-painted patterns on the wine labels to represent the feel and taste profile of each wine. This, complemented by fine organic serif type Thoreau, by type foundry No Bad Type, with details as delicate as grape tendrils, creates a uniquely beautiful design. The labels follow an unconventional oval shape creating a distinct contemporary frame around the artwork.
