Wiesbaden, Germany-based Zheila Cervantes is an independent Latina illustrator from Mexico – and the founder of Zhei Art, an online shop where the artist sells prints, tote bags, stickers, magnets, and cards – that are inspired by female empowerment, imagination, nature, and lots of colors. Zheila’s journey as an illustrator began back in 2019 when she decided to begin pursuing things that brought her the most joy in life. First, she began working with watercolor, before moving on to “digital art and design and everything in between”, as she now exclusively works with an iPad. Zheila’s work ranges from branding projects to various illustration work, and she has created numerous editorial illustrations for local magazines as well as for her personal projects, while her work can also be enjoyed on the pages of a fun children’s book for Waterloo Park, based in Austin, Texas.

Throughout her multi-faceted brand, her goal is to inspire and uplift others to have the courage to show up as their authentic self and come as they are, every day. Constantly growing and developing her own skillset, Zheila aspired to do the same for others with her work – whether it be her portrait illustrations of strong, empowering female figures, or her work as a barre instructor.
“Being a self-taught illustrator means showing up to my blank canvas without judgment nor expectations.
