Lumoconcept, a Budapest-based custom lighting design studio and manufacturer, is celebrating its 10th anniversary in style. Renowned for its bespoke lighting solutions and commitment to aesthetic and technical excellence, Lumoconcept has spent the last decade crafting innovative lighting designs for projects ranging from residential spaces to large-scale architectural endeavors. To mark this milestone, the studio unveiled an eye-catching and vibrant creative campaign that reflects its dynamic spirit and forward-looking ethos.
A celebration of innovation and experimentation
Reaching a decade of success as a small business in Hungary is no small feat. Edina Bugár, Head of Communications at Lumoconcept, explains how this milestone deserved an equally ambitious celebration. “Reaching a 10th anniversary is a very big deal, especially as a small business in Hungary. To celebrate this accomplishment, we have developed a creative concept that is all about the brand: lively and vibrant, contemporary, progressive, forward-looking, outstanding, friendly, lovely, and fun.”
Experimenting is one of the key driving factors when it comes to finding the perfect custom lighting solution for a project.
Staying true to their roots, Lumoconcept emphasizes the experimental mindset that defines their design philosophy. “Experimenting is one of the key driving factors when it comes to finding the perfect custom lighting solution for a project,” Bugár explains. “We wanted to make this experimental mindset very visible. It is our foundation.”
The centerpiece of the anniversary campaign is a set of neon posters that serve as both artistic statements and functional decor at the celebratory event. The posters were printed on Fluoposter, a unique neon paper exclusively available at Europapier Group. This 90 g/m2 paper, coated on one side with fluorescent ink, comes in five vivid colors —orange, yellow, pink, red, and green — and can be printed using conventional processes. Lumoconcept selected Fluoposter in four colors; neon pink, neon yellow, neon orange, and white, to use in their campaign.
The project started with a fresh perspective from the graphic designer. “We were eager to see the graphic designer’s fresh approach and loved the paper selection he brought to the table because it mirrored this experimental approach so well,” Bugár shares. The creative process didn’t stop there. In keeping with the studio’s commitment to craftsmanship, Lumoconcept collaborated with a local screenprinting studio to produce the posters, adding an artisanal touch to the modern designs.
The posters acted as party posters at the gate of the event venue, as a photo backdrop at the event, and as a “thank you” present for the guests who have come to celebrate with us.
Adding to the celebration’s vibrant character, a playful event name was coined: Jubilumo. A combination of “Jubilee” and “Lumoconcept”, the name encapsulates the studio’s celebratory and creative spirit in a funky way. At the event, the boldly colored posters played multiple roles. “The posters acted as party posters at the gate of the event venue, as a photo backdrop at the event, and as a “thank you” present for the guests who have come to celebrate with us,” says Bugár. The neon posters became way more than just event decor, as they are a bold statement of Lumoconcept’s identity. “Because of the neon paper, the posters function as both cool decorations as well as a fancy reminder of the event – and of our brand.”
So as Lumoconcept looks to the future, this jubilant celebration of its past 10 years is a testament to its innovative ethos, collaborative spirit, and commitment to aesthetic excellence. From experimenting with cutting-edge materials like Fluoposter to blending modern design with artisanal craftsmanship, the studio continues to shine brightly in the world of custom lighting design.
