With simple means to mesmerizing results
Khasanov’s latest creation is a bright and colorful typography design titled Marmalade, which follows the mind-bending, hypnotic style of his previous work. Khasanov’s talent lies in reimagining the possibilities of everyday material, and creativity in manipulating them into something new and exciting. The holographic, gradient-like patterns of Marmalade were created by forming letters using gel on the surface of a CD. Without any use of paint, or computer graphics, the end images are captured with a camera by Khasanov himself. By illuminating the gel with a lamp, the holographic surface of the CD transforms the gel into a three-dimensional gradient of color – creating a captivating visual image.
With seemingly simple means Khasanov creates inspiring and visually awarding work, encapsulating the meaning of creativity and imagination. By observing and examining visual and physical phenomenons around us, the artist creates work that truly captures the viewer’s eye.
